The former ABFA Premier Division Champions, Grenades FC would have had time to lick their wounds and recover from an unexpected ending of the 2023/24 premiere league season.
Their chances of a repeat championship were dashed in the final two weeks of the competition, allowing All Saints Utd and coach Schyan Jeffers to lift their first premier division title.
After some months, Grenades would have had time to see where things went wrong and fix the pieces that needed to be fixed, in whatever department that may be.
Upon the release of the training squad, there was a notable absentee to the coaching staff, as it seems that Grenades would seek to return former coach Derrick “Pretty Boy” Edwards to lead the team into familiar territory and ultimately part ways with coach Lenny Hewlett.
The men from round south will do battle against Guyanese powerhouse Guyana Defense Force FC in the preliminary stages of the competition on July 26th at the Rignaal Jean Francisca Stadium in Curacao, 5:30 pm local time.
The competition will be using a Knock-out format, therefore, Grenades must win to move on to the next round of the competition. A total of three wins will see them play in the finals set for August 4th, 2024.
